Senior Control System Engineer

About the role

The Senior Control System Engineer ensures safe, reliable and compliant operation of plant control and safety systems throughout their lifecycle. You will provide technical leadership for maintenance, modifications, incident response and continuous improvement, aligning with company standards and functional safety principles.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and execute maintenance and modification strategies for control and safety systems.
• Assess change impacts on functional safety, maintainability and system integrity; support Management of Change (MOC) activities.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance to achieve 100% compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain engineering documentation and technical integrity of all plant process control systems.
• Provide 24‑hour emergency call‑out support, including night‑shift coverage during startups, shutdowns and upsets.
• Develop lifecycle strategies for system expansion, upgrades, obsolescence management and renewal.
• Lead functional safety risk identification, SIF proof testing and apply safety and quality assurance throughout the system lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Automation or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in design, engineering, commissioning, maintenance or modification of control systems.
• Proven ability to make sound engineering judgments under pressure and to document decisions clearly.
