Senior Electrical Engineer – Robotics (Singapore)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of electronic systems for our open‑source humanoid robot platform. You will be responsible for power distribution, motor control, and sensor integration, ensuring reliable hardware for advanced locomotion and autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review schematics and PCB layouts for power distribution units, motor driver boards and actuator control electronics.
• Integrate wiring harnesses, PCBA enclosures and motor controllers into mechanical assemblies from the ground up.
• Lead bring‑up of power systems, sensors and actuator sub‑assemblies, diagnosing issues across multiple hardware revisions.
• Define and run electrical and system‑level test protocols, analyse failure modes and iterate based on test data.
• Collaborate closely with firmware and controls teams to ensure electrical designs support stable, low‑latency control loops.
• Apply connector selection, grounding strategy, harness routing and EMI suppression techniques for robust, field‑reliable hardware.
• Contribute PCB schematics and manufacturing documentation to the project’s open‑source hardware releases.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on electrical engineering experience on high‑complexity electromechanical products.
• Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, including motor drivers, sensors and embedded hardware integration.
• Proven ability to work across firmware, mechanical and leadership teams.

Required skills

• Schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Power distribution unit and motor driver design.
• Actuator control electronics.
• Low‑voltage DC power systems (≤60 V), DC‑DC converters, MOSFET gate drivers, current‑sense amplifiers.
• Oscilloscope and logic analyzer debugging, CAN/UART communication analysis.
• Connector selection, grounding, harness routing, EMI suppression.
• Python scripting for hardware automation and data analysis.
