Senior Electrical Engineer (Sustaining)

About the role

XP Power is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (Sustaining) to own in-production engineering for SMPS products, driving reliability, quality, cost and manufacturability improvements. The role leads root cause analysis, component lifecycle management, compliance upkeep and production support across global manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical subjects such as product testing, failure analysis, engineering improvements, quality and reliability matters.
• Sustain SWPS products through their lifecycles with cross-functional teams.
• Perform debug and verification: efficiency, thermal, regulation, transient, protection features, conducted/radiated EMI pre-scans and safety tests.
• Develop test plans and procedures, run hands-on tests on products, circuits and components, collect test data and write test reports.
• Drive value engineering and cost reductions, qualify alternate components and suppliers without performance regression.
• Design test systems with software and hardware to automate testing.
• Conduct FMEA, evaluate risks and mitigate them, and carry out root cause analysis to derive countermeasures.

Required profile

• BEng/MEng/MSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• 8+ years in electrical/electronics product development or sustaining engineering.
• Strong analogue, power and digital fundamentals, able to read schematics and analyse electrical stresses.
• Experience qualifying electronic components and systems, and hands-on environmental testing and lab equipment.
• Nice to have: HV measurement experience, familiarity with SMPS topologies (flyback/forward, resonant/LLC, PFC, multipliers, HV bias), and high-reliability industry experience (medical, industrial, automotive, aerospace).
