Senior / Engineer, CHART (Sensing and Robotics Systems)

About the role

CGH, part of SingHealth, is developing smart systems for the ageing population and building smart hospitals to improve the productivity of the healthcare workforce. It is looking for motivated candidates interested in robotics to join its multi-disciplinary team of healthcare innovators. You will take part in the research, development and prototyping of intelligent healthcare systems and help build the enablers needed to scale robotic solutions in public hospitals and health institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Use engineering skills and knowledge to help stakeholders conceptualise, formulate and design solutions to the challenges identified by the Centre and Hospital.
• Take part in designing, prototyping and implementing engineering solutions (sensors and robotic platforms) for healthcare needs.
• Develop software packages and smart solutions that support the scaling of robotic solutions.
• Support and facilitate knowledge transfer and training of healthcare institution staff on operating the systems after project completion.

Required profile

• Good engineering degree; at least 2 years of experience in electrical circuitry design, robotic solutions and/or software application implementation preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience is an advantage.
• Independent and effective team player.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; trainer experience is an advantage.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Required skills

• Familiarity with robotic platforms and software development and integration with them, including SLAM or related fields.
• Advantageous: ROS, Gazebo, Unity, Linux, OpenCV.
• Advantageous: robotics perception, LIDAR, object tracking, motion planning, machine learning, sensor fusion and system engineering.
• Advantageous: embedded and real-time systems.
• Advantageous: algorithm development in Rust, C/C++, Python and Unix shell scripting.
