Senior Executive / Executive (Finance Department) - Payroll and Claims

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore is hiring a Senior Executive / Executive for its Finance Department. The role provides payroll and claims administration support, ensuring accurate and timely payroll posting and claim processing for all employees. It also oversees compliance with statutory requirements, government legislation and group policies, supports reporting needs and handles staff and stakeholder queries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll administration support, including monthly payroll postings for full-time and part-time staff, statutory contributions and period-end closing.
• Process payroll-related payments such as education allowances, passage claims and other miscellaneous payments.
• Carry out finance activities such as journal entries, reclassifications and general ledger postings.
• Ensure employee claims are accurate and compliant with group policies and standards.
• Support budget submission and evaluation, and prepare regular and ad hoc management reports and data requests.
• Provide payroll posting information for internal and external audits, and educate employees on payroll and claim policies and procedures.
• Keep payroll data confidential, meet service level agreements and support payroll and claim projects and initiatives.

Required profile

• Polytechnic diploma or degree, preferably in Accountancy, Business or its equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience handling payroll or claims; some finance experience with accounting knowledge is an advantage.
• Organized, meticulous with data, service-oriented, proactive and able to work independently.
• Able to prioritize, multi-task and deliver work on schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (a must).
• SAP and Ariba experience is an added advantage.
