Senior Facilities Engineer - Ultra Pure Water (UPW)

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for a Facilities UPW/WW Engineer to ensure the precise operation and maintenance of its Ultra-Pure Water and Wastewater systems, respond to issues and manage key projects such as upgrades and expansions. Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), Local Scrubber Recycling system and other water treatment systems to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Liaise with contractors and vendors to implement corrective and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Study, plan and implement engineering projects and solutions, including upgrades, retrofits, system expansions and maintenance.
• Support and enforce safety compliance and government regulations, ensuring wastewater discharge meets PUB discharge limits.
• Initiate, evaluate, plan, design and supervise improvements and new projects for water systems, and propose water recycling projects to reduce consumption.
• Lead control automation engineering projects, including new construction, system upgrades and quality improvements.
• Promote environmental sustainability through green initiatives and new technologies that improve water and waste recyclability and reduce electricity, waste or water use.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal operations on major consumable replacements, plant repairs and other works for the UPW plant, WWTP and reclaim plants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or environmental engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience on Ultra Pure Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant systems.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of water treatment processes for Ultra Pure Water.
• Technical knowledge of pumps and hydraulics.
