Senior Firmware Engineer - Power Systems

About the role

Flex is looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer based in Kallang, Singapore. The role covers maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organisation. Flex is also spinning off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new independent company, Axiom, planned for Q1 2027; if the spin occurs, the role will support Axiom, which delivers power and thermal management solutions for AI data centres.

Key responsibilities

• Develop power platforms from concept through to a working prototype within defined requirements.
• Power system design including system-level modelling and simulation, topology architecture, component selection (digital controller, isolator, etc.), schematics, coding and implementation.
• Solve technical problems encountered during development.
• Work with functional teams to meet product specifications, cost targets and schedules.
• Provide design support and issue resolution during the product design phase.

Required profile

• Master's degree or above in power electronics or electrical, automation.
• 5 years' experience for a Master's degree, 2 years for a PhD, in high-power system digital control and simulation (SST, AIDC, EV fast charger).
• Independent project design experience.
• Strong digital control knowledge, with good understanding of power system modelling and simulation and common topologies such as Totem Pole PFC, Vienna PFC, T-NPC, ANPC, LLC, CLLC and DAB.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as Matlab/Simulink, MatchCAD and PLECS.
• Self-motivated, passionate and a good team player.
