About the role
Micron Technology is hiring a Senior Global Planning Engineer (NPI) for its FECOS Inventory Control team at Fab 10A. The role oversees the management of the FECOS NPI teams, which support NPI production execution, pilot line management and the delivery of NPI wafers, outputs and samples on time. It works with Front End Planning and Manufacturing stakeholders to share best practices and deliver tactical solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage metrics: drive the FE Production team on critical reports for line management, inventory and cycle time, own global inventory metrics, consolidate fab metrics and automate metric consolidation
- Forecast roadblocks in NPI inventory management and work with site NPI managers on mitigation plans
- Improve NPI metrics (wafer starts, wafer out, sample delivery, cycle time) with Area/Shift Production, Engineering and IE, and lead proof-of-concept deployments of BKM reports and automation
- Develop manufacturing science concepts for NPI line management and inventory scheduling, and audit and sustain business processes in the network
- Manage projects to meet deliverables and deadlines, train production staff on line knowledge gaps and maintain the group's training roadmap
- Keep supply chain teams informed on die mix and pull-in changes, and align fab execution capability with business commitments
- Act as technical authority for NPI wafers and cycle time, advise senior leadership on NPI performance and risks, and mentor engineers
Required profile
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science
- At least 7 years of experience in semiconductor cycle time, NPI and line management
- Strong technical knowledge of cycle time, NPI and line management, preferably with line operations experience
- Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
