Senior Industrial Engineering Engineer

About the role

GlobalFoundries, a full-service semiconductor foundry, is hiring a Senior Industrial Engineering engineer in its Science Park site. The role covers fab capacity planning, equipment utilization, cycle time reduction, tool layout and space management, and supports staff seating arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Capacity planning: develop and maintain the fab-wide plant capacity model aligned with customer wafer demand and tool input, analyze capacity gaps and partner with process modules on equipment readiness.
• Equipment utilization: calculate and monitor capacity utilization across fab modules, identify bottlenecks, run productivity improvement programs and work with maintenance to improve OEE.
• Cycle time reduction: calculate the intrinsic cycle time and work with manufacturing and process engineering teams to reduce it and improve throughput.
• Tool redundancy and fab stability: help process owners implement redundancy plans for critical tools.
• Layout planning: act as the IE lead for tool layout and fab space planning, coordinate tool installation with facilities and equipment teams, create and update AutoCAD tool layouts, and keep accurate records of tool placement and space use.
• Staff support: work with HR and operations on seating arrangements for staff in SP2 and external offices, and support EHS and security requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial engineering in a semiconductor wafer fab is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in capacity modelling.
• AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools.
