Senior Inspector - Medical Devices

About the role

Edwards is hiring a Senior Inspector to assess medical devices in-process and upon completion, ensuring they meet regulatory and company guidelines and operational standards as designed. The role works independently at a high level of productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspection of components and finished medical device products using a wide range of tools and equipment, highlighting and escalating work issues to the Lead.
• Perform functional testing of finished products using automated and manual valve testing equipment.
• Verify quality records, including Device History Record review and product release for interplant shipment or distribution; may include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• May control inventory to ensure appropriate storage conditions and movement.
• Other duties: general work area housekeeping.

Required profile

• Secondary education including technical training years, or 4 years of previous related manufacturing and QC experience.
• Ability to read, comprehend, speak and write English.
• Team player who can work on inter-departmental teams and give and receive feedback.
• Adherence to company rules such as pandemic protocols and environmental health and safety rules.

Required skills

• Good computer skills, including working knowledge of manufacturing software.
• Proficiency in all inspection techniques for production inspection and full understanding of inspection procedures.
• Ability to describe nonconformances and enter them into the QMS.
• Ability to program and contribute to the validation of automated test equipment.
• Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and strict attention to detail.
