Senior Java Developer - Equity Derivatives

About the role

Citi is hiring a Senior Java Developer for its Equity Derivatives Trade Management technology team in Singapore. The team supports the trade capture and lifecycle management platforms used by the Global Equity Derivatives business and works closely with front office, operations and product development teams. The role suits someone who builds high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications and can take ownership of functional components.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical architecture, design and implementation of high-performance platforms for trade capture and lifecycle management.
• Build resilient, high-performance Java applications that scale for high-volume transactions and low-latency execution.
• Enforce clean coding standards, SOLID principles and full unit/integration test coverage through peer reviews and automated quality metrics (SonarQube).
• Partner with platform owners and business analysts to refine requirements and deliver functional capabilities.
• Advance CI/CD pipelines, containerization on OpenShift/Kubernetes and automated release verification.
• Coordinate application releases and provide Tier-3 production support and root-cause analysis for critical escalations.
• Promote cloud adoption and AI-assisted developer productivity tooling, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands-on software development and architecture experience in enterprise, high-throughput environments.
• Strong understanding of Equity Derivatives products, pricing/risk workflows and end-to-end trade lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to coordinate deployments and provide Tier-3 production support.
• Strong communication skills and comfort in fast-paced trading environments.

Required skills

• Modern Java (Java 17+), Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate and RESTful services (JSON/XML)
• Distributed caching and in-memory data grids such as Apache Ignite, Hazelcast or Redis
• RDBMS (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server) with performance tuning, and NoSQL persistence
• Microservices on OpenShift, Kubernetes or equivalent cloud platforms
• Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD toolchains and build pipelines
• SOLID principles, SonarQube, JUnit, TestNG
• AI-assisted developer tooling and copilots
