Senior Manager, Audit & Advisory Services, Asia

About the role

Manulife is looking for a Senior Manager, Audit & Advisory Services, Asia. You will be accountable for planning, executing and completing audit projects (key risk audits, key risk reviews, consulting, investigations and other special projects) focused on Wealth & Asset Management and General Account Investments for Asia and Singapore. The function delivers independent, risk-based assurance and advisory services to senior management and the board.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute on-site and off-site audit and advisory assignments from the annual audit plan, following the Group's audit methodology, departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead audit and advisory projects, including scoping, planning, fieldwork and reporting.
• Use advanced data analytics to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.
• Manage regular and ad hoc meetings with business unit management, communicate audit progress and resolve audit observations.
• Evaluate auditee responses and present audit issues and recommendations to improve controls and operational efficiency.
• Follow up with auditees on rectification and corrective action plans.
• Assist the Audit Director and above with working papers review, audit plan development, presentation materials for committees and executive meetings, and ad hoc tasks.

Required profile

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Big4/CPA firms, risk and compliance, or data analytics functions of reputable financial institutions, preferably wealth and investment management.
• Bachelor's degree or above in a related discipline with professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, CPA, CIA or CISA.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese; fluent Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus.
• Preferred: ability to communicate clearly with senior management, analyze business processes and controls across Asia, prioritize in a multi-tasking environment, and occasional travel within Asia.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of data analytics (Python, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau) and Agile auditing are advantageous.
• Strong presentation, conflict resolution and business judgment skills.

The role is hybrid, and overtime may be needed to meet deadlines.
