Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, APAC (Local Payment Providers)

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, APAC (Local Payment Providers). The role expands and strengthens Airwallex's global partner ecosystem and drives the development of its Local Payment Methods (LPMs) infrastructure across APAC, while managing key strategic relationships with financial institutions and payment partners. The role is based in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the LPM partnership strategy for APAC (Greater CN, KR, SEA) to support Airwallex's global growth.
• Own and grow the most strategic partner relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring strong collaboration and commercial success.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to keep Airwallex in a leadership position in global payments.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate and onboard new partners, driving the commercial and legal contracting process for local payment methods, schemes and bank transfer solutions.
• Manage partner relationships and commercial growth, and resolve complex operational escalations on merchant onboarding, compliance and transaction stability.
• Represent Airwallex in partner meetings, industry events and forums as an industry thought leader.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience working with eWallets, BNPLs, PSPs, financial institutions, card schemes or payment networks.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Commercial.
• International experience, working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships.
• Track record with technology-led businesses in a fast-paced environment; strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Preferred: proven experience in a startup environment and working with Asian Local Payment Providers.
