Senior Mechanical Engineer – Power & Renewable Energy

About the role

The Power Team at WSP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and consulting for gas turbine power plants and renewable energy projects across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Size, design and review mechanical systems for power and renewable energy projects.
• Prepare design specifications and provide technical advice on plant configuration, equipment selection, balance‑of‑plant systems and enabling infrastructure.
• Support clients through feasibility studies, project appraisals, procurement evaluations, contractor and vendor design reviews, construction, commissioning and performance testing.
• Contribute to proposal development and coordinate with WSP’s regional experts.
• Manage technical delivery requirements for assigned projects.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical or process engineer in the power sector, preferably in plant/system design or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of gas‑turbine power plants and renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, waste‑to‑energy and battery energy storage systems.
• Experience working with public and private sector clients in the Asia region.
• Familiarity with waste‑to‑energy processes is a plus.
