Senior New Product Manufacturing Engineer (Platform Level)

About the role

Applied Materials is looking for a Platform-level Senior New Product Manufacturing Engineer (NPME) in Singapore to support Factory Interfaces and Mainframe modules. The role needs strong system engineering capability, covering NPI, system integration, supplier engagement and resolution lead, manufacturing readiness and production support. It acts as an on-site technical anchor, improving build success rates, reducing issue turnaround time and enabling a smooth move from NPI to high-volume manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness for FI/Mainframe platforms, including BOM, OMS and build strategies
• Drive DFx (Design for Manufacturability/Test/Assembly) and early NPI/PLC engagement, using DMU and virtual builds to spot manufacturability risks
• Own the NPI to HVM transition with focus on quality, cycle time and system stability
• Act as system integrator across Electrical and Mechanical domains, and lead/support managed builds, engineering builds and qualification activities
• Drive Form-Fit-Function validation, system-level integration checks and test engineering (test procedures, fixture readiness)
• Serve as primary SME for manufacturing issues, troubleshoot line-down and system-level problems in real time, and enable technicians on system configuration and software imaging
• Lead RCCA for complex issues, resolve NCs, DMRs, SPS, ESWs, ECOs and NSRs, and support rework, containment and shortage mitigation
• Ensure BOM and configuration alignment through change management (ECO, NSR, ESW, SPS, CCB) and act as manufacturing voice in design and system decisions
• Collaborate with Design, Test, Manufacturing, PM, suppliers and CMs, and support CIP, process automation and supplier builds and first article validation
• Review electrical drawings and schematics, validate OMS against MLO requirements, and support value analysis of schematics, cables, components and BOMs

Required profile

• Extensive experience in NPME or System Engineering roles
• Strong experience in FI/Mainframe systems with Electrical and Mechanical integration
• Proven experience in NPI, system integration and manufacturing support
• Hands-on exposure to controls and customer engineering special design/test systems
• Ability to work with global teams and contract manufacturers, and travel to supplier/CM sites as required (about 10% of the time)

The position is full time, regular, with relocation eligibility and travel of about 10% of the time.
