Senior Pharmacy Technician (2-Year Contract)

About the role

NUHS is hiring a Senior Pharmacy Technician for a 2-year contract. The role performs technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely drug distribution, assists the senior pharmacist in charge with workflow and continuous improvement, and dispenses medicines according to department policies and guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Pharmacy operations (80%): simple medication dispensing, processing medication orders, picking, packing and labelling medicines, medication reconciliation, pre-packing, processing daily nurse request orders for inpatient supplies and billing functions.
• Customer service: provide professional and courteous service to patients and customers.
• Inventory management: organise stock using FIFO, maintain proper storage conditions and conduct cycle counts according to SOPs.
• Medication safety: comply with pharmacy medication safety practices.
• Quality improvement (20%): participate in quality improvement projects.

Required profile

• Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC), or a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science, or a foreign pharmacy degree not recognised by the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Able to work independently, communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Able to prioritise and organise work well.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays occasionally.
