Senior Platform Engineer - Testing Platform

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design and delivery of an on‑premise testing platform that provides developers and testers with elastic, on‑demand access to a wide variety of physical and virtual devices. The role focuses on building a scalable, secure infrastructure that supports diverse device types, architectures and communication protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build a robust, scalable testing platform with device management, automated test execution and result analysis capabilities.
• Validate performance and reliability of the underlying virtualization stack (VMWare, Red Hat) and continuously optimise for high availability and scalability.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering and Security teams to integrate and deploy platform services.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance and participate in architectural decision‑making.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents and user manuals.
• Oversee server hardware management to ensure optimal performance and uptime.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to analyse complex systems.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Virtualisation technologies: VMWare and Red Hat virtualization.
• Scripting with Python.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools: Ansible and Terraform.
