Senior R&D Technologist – Chocolate (North)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior R&D Technologist to lead chocolate‑focused research and development initiatives across the northern region of Singapore. The role combines laboratory work, process improvement, and technical support to internal teams and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support production troubleshooting and drive process improvement activities.
• Provide technical assistance to customers, handling product applications, raw material specifications, and complaint investigations.
• Participate in new product development and product improvement projects for chocolate, confectionery, and specialty fats.
• Prepare samples for customers and the sales team and maintain laboratory equipment, quality records, and calibration activities.
• Source and implement new laboratory equipment and methodologies.
• Assist in maintaining the Quality and Environmental Management System and safety management system within R&D.
• Plan and execute assigned R&D projects, preparing technical documentation such as product specifications, PDS and TDS.
• Conduct laboratory trials and support commercialization at manufacturing sites.
• Deliver technical training to internal stakeholders and customers as required.
• Participate in customer meetings, presentations and occasional business trips.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements and uphold good housekeeping practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in the food industry, specifically chocolate, confectionery applications or specialty fats and oils.
• Experience in food applications and product development is an advantage.
