Senior Research Fellow – Biomaterials

About the role

The TMIG group within the School of Materials Science & Engineering at NTU is seeking a senior research fellow to join an international team focused on developing non‑antibiotic mitigants for cellular agriculture. The role involves pioneering biomaterial solutions that meet regulatory safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and characterize broad‑spectrum lipid, peptide, and glycan‑based mitigants.
• Fabricate and evaluate 3‑D scaffolds using novel biomaterials.
• Create biomimetic cell‑culture environments and ensure scalability for large‑scale manufacturing.
• Interpret experimental data critically and apply findings to project goals.
• Prepare data, proposals, and reports for grant applications and publications.
• Train and mentor new team members in laboratory techniques.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong experimental background in functional material fabrication and micro/nanoparticle production.
• Excellent communication, organization, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Independent work ethic with experience preparing scientific reports and papers.
• Willingness to share expertise and coach junior colleagues.
