Senior Scientist I, Process Modules, APM, IME

About the role

The Senior Scientist I will lead the development of new process modules within the Advanced Process Manufacturing (APM) and Integrated Manufacturing Engineering (IME) teams. Working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, you will drive the design, validation and optimisation of lithography‑based processes for semiconductor substrates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and develop new process modules in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Validate design, reticle tap‑out and perform post‑tap‑out verification.
• Lead internal and external technical discussions to resolve process challenges.
• Conduct process characterisation, margin studies and capability assessments.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for researchers and industry partners, publishing outcomes in the research community.
• Select and procure research equipment, and work with fab teams to establish SPC for new processes.

Required profile

• Ph.D., Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Microelectronics or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of R&D or industry experience handling 6", 8" or 12" substrates across nano‑ to micron‑scale nodes, preferably SiC, GaN or photonics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Photolithography tools: Immersion, KrF, I‑line Scanner, Stepper, Mask Aligner.
• E‑beam Lithography (advantageous).
• Metrology: CD‑SEM, Overlay, OCD, DR‑SEM, optical microscopy.
• Design and simulation software: Prolith, OPC.
• Reticle layout formats: OAS, GDS.
• Process set‑up techniques: swing‑curve analysis, FEM, DOE, statistical root‑cause analysis.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and margin improvement methodologies.
