Senior Software Engineer, Memory Diagnostics

About the role

Join AMD's next‑generation data‑center and server processor team, focusing on memory diagnostics. You will develop and validate tests that exercise memory subsystems across pre‑silicon and post‑silicon stages, ensuring hardware reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design innovative diagnostics for memory subsystems, caches and DDR/GDDR/DRAM technologies.
• Code, debug and optimise functional and stress tests for memory IP on emulators and silicon platforms.
• Identify and resolve chip, board and firmware issues, driving high‑quality hardware coverage.
• Improve test frameworks and architectures to enhance debugability and coverage.
• Leverage AI‑powered coding assistants for code generation, review and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of memory architectures, JEDEC specifications and DDR technologies.
• Experience developing DRAM/memory stress tests for bandwidth, latency and data‑integrity validation.
• Familiarity with PCIe, high‑speed interfaces and overall PC architecture.
• Background in diagnostic, device‑driver, firmware or embedded software development in large‑scale Linux environments.
