Senior Software Engineer, Org & Identity

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Organization & Identity team in Singapore. The team builds and evolves the core identity and organization foundations, covering user onboarding, authentication and access control, organization-structure modeling, account ownership and org-level workflows. The engineer shapes the long-term technical vision for identity, authentication and core account domains, working on highly available, cloud-native systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture for Identity and Access Management and account infrastructure domains.
• Build highly available, cloud-native IAM products and account infrastructure using Java or Kotlin.
• Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, Legal and Engineering teams to turn business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.
• Improve engineering quality through system design, code reviews, automated testing and best practices for performance, reliability and security.
• Mentor engineers and help level up team capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend development.
• Experience mentoring engineers and working cross-functionally with Product, Security, Compliance, Legal and Engineering teams.
• Preferred: fintech, banking or payments experience, data governance or privacy-enhancing technology experience, and experience in a high-growth startup.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go or Python.
• Deep understanding of IAM concepts: authentication, authorization, SSO and MFA.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Databases such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra and Redis.
• Security: OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, OWASP and secure coding standards.
