Senior Solutions Engineer

About the role

Cloudera, a data partner for large enterprises, is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join its team in Singapore. The role combines technical and business expertise with customer service skills to advise sales teams, prospects and customers on business and technical issues, supporting sales goals.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on customer use case discovery and requirements workshops
• Create and deliver customer-centric solution designs and present roadmaps, visions, proposed architectures and business outcomes to technical teams
• Define the technical selling approach for accounts and take part in account penetration and success strategy planning with sales and solutions engineering management
• Understand the competitive landscape and the technology ecosystem, and turn customer feedback into product roadmap items
• Share in evangelism activities such as blogs, meetups and industry events
• Mentor associates, help create and maintain enablement materials, and contribute to internal and external knowledge repositories

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• 10+ years of professional experience in a similar position
• Enterprise software and big data experience
• Solution architecture or engineering experience, able to listen to customer needs, whiteboard and propose architectures
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good relationships with infrastructure (hardware, storage, network)

• Nice to have: HDFS/YARN, Spark, Impala, Kudu, Solr, streaming tools (NiFi, Kafka, Flink), NoSQL (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB), EDW (Teradata, Netezza, GreenPlum, Exadata), data science and integration products (Talend, DataStage, Informatica, Tableau, etc.)
