Senior / Staff Engineer, Global FE Modeling

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior / Staff Engineer for its Global FE Modeling function. As an OCT Modeling Engineer, you act as the primary contact for the manufacturing network, assessing and reporting the capital impact of process changes to senior leaders in Manufacturing and R&D. You connect parts of the business to drive manufacturing and cost-saving processes, including supply change, finance, engineering, procurement, production and planning, and you may use Artificial Intelligence to improve planning and reporting tools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead network tool utilization strategies and benchmark performance to optimize deployed capital
• Lead and communicate improvement and implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions in Manufacturing
• Optimize capacity of installed equipment and lead site and tool-level optimization studies for throughput enhancement
• Collaborate with partners to understand future tool and process roadmaps and assess the network capacity impact of process changes
• Improve financial analyses before capital equipment purchases by automating metrics optimizations, process flexibility, capacity sharing and equipment repurposing
• Craft reports and benchmarks to ensure department goals are met

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a business-related or quantitative field (Finance, Economics or similar)
• MBA or Master's degree or equivalent experience is desirable
• Experience turning complex, ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions in a multi-functional environment
• Ability to work independently with strong organization and adaptability to change
• Experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, recommending actions and reporting results to technical and non-technical groups
• Team experience and ability to maintain multi-functional relationships
• Experience in capacity analysis, business analysis or process analysis is advantageous
