Senior Systems Engineer (Middleware/Tools Administrator)

About the role

Singapore Airlines is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer (Middleware/Tools Administrator) to join its Hybrid Platform Engineering team. The role provides deep administration and troubleshooting expertise for middleware technologies, particularly MQ and JBOSS, across on-premises and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot middleware, monitoring and backup tools in line with company policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for middleware, monitoring and backup tools.
• Build automation solutions with tools such as Ansible and Python scripting to improve agility and operational efficiency.
• Support audits, infrastructure and network security scans, disaster recovery exercises and security drills.
• Evaluate and deploy new middleware, monitoring or backup technologies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Provide on-call support for troubleshooting and planned maintenance of production systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 5 years of IT experience, including 3 years of hands-on middleware (MQ, JBOSS) and/or enterprise monitoring and backup tool administration.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and backup tools and other industry-standard solutions.
• Familiarity with networking protocols, operating systems and basic IT security principles.
• Preferred: Agile, DevOps, CI/CD experience and certification in MQ or JBOSS.

Required skills

• Middleware administration (MQ, JBOSS): installation, configuration, security, networking, storage integration, patching and hardening.
• Scripting and automation with Python and Ansible.
• Strong analytical, project management, communication and interpersonal skills.
