Senior/Staff Engineer, Global Process Safety

About the role

Micron is building a global Process Safety function that supports the next generation of memory technology, partnering across development, manufacturing and EHS so that complex processes scale safely and consistently. In this role you will help drive the Risk-Based Process Safety (RBPS) framework for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) technologies, working across global teams to identify and manage safety challenges in fast-paced development and manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Risk-Based Process Safety (RBPS) governance and drive consistency across sites supporting HBM processes
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify, assess and mitigate process safety risks tied to new materials and complex processes
• Support Management of Change (MOC), ensuring timely risk assessments and closure of actions for tool, chemistry and process changes
• Facilitate hazard analyses, audits and investigations, and share findings to improve system-wide performance
• Develop clear updates and guidance for leaders on process safety risks, trends and program health

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, technology development or process safety in complex manufacturing
• 3+ years of experience with RBPS or equivalent process safety frameworks
• Experience facilitating hazard analyses, risk assessments and root cause investigations

Required skills

• Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams and user documentation
• Preferred: experience with advanced memory technologies or high-complexity semiconductor manufacturing
• Preferred: strong knowledge of CCPS RBPS principles in manufacturing environments
• Preferred: experience supporting technology transfer or rapid scale-up operations
• Preferred: ability to influence global, matrixed teams without direct authority
• Preferred: experience applying AI tools and data-driven workflows to risk analysis and root-cause identification
