Shipping Specialist

About the role

Satair is looking for a Shipping Specialist to ensure the correct and timely dispatch of goods in line with its goals and strategies. The position is based in Satair, Singapore, and is an entry-level, permanent role within the logistics family.

Key responsibilities

• Book customer orders and control bookings by order priority
• Issue invoices and shipping documents, and arrange shipments according to Satair's policies or customers' instructions
• Submit shipping details to customers and keep their shipping database up to date
• Notify colleagues of potential deviations from agreed transport agreements and keep accurate records of documents
• Manage multiple ERP systems and processes across business units, and pass the DG course and make DG declarations for outbound shipments
• Maintain contact with freight forwarders, investigate short/overshipments, update error log cases and record inbound shipments, proforma invoices and dropshipment AWBs
• Work in a backup capacity with the Manager – Shipping, keep documents filed and archived, and maintain a tidy workspace (6S)

Required profile

• Minimum Higher Nitec or Diploma qualification
• Ability to work in different shift patterns
• Good knowledge of freight forwarding, transport/shipping and Incoterms; knowledge of dangerous goods preferred
• Team player with attention to detail, able to multi-task in demanding situations

Required skills

• ERP experience, preferably SAP
• Google software applications
• PC Doc and freight forwarder systems
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
