Software Engineer (Big Data Processing)

About the role

CSIT builds mission‑critical products that support Singapore’s national security, including counter‑terrorism and network defence. As a Software Engineer focused on big‑data processing, you will design, develop and deploy scalable web‑based search applications that help analysts retrieve, triage and investigate threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop flagship big‑data analytics systems, APIs and web applications for efficient information retrieval.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
• Ensure system performance, reliability and sustainability through quality control and optimisation.
• Explore emerging technologies and produce proof‑of‑concepts for senior leadership.
• Architect scalable solutions, write clean code, and implement comprehensive testing.
• Monitor system health, support patches, and assist in capacity planning and performance tuning.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of full‑stack software engineering experience, suitable for a senior role.
• Strong foundation in Object‑Oriented and Functional Programming paradigms.
• Effective communication of technical details.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills in a dynamic environment.
