Software Engineer II – Payments Technology

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join JPMorgan’s Payments Technology team. In this role you will help design, develop and deliver secure, stable and scalable technology products that support the firm’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and troubleshoot software solutions using modern programming languages and databases.
• Create secure, high‑quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with relevant systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Gather, analyse and visualise large data sets to drive continuous improvement of applications and systems.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI coding‑assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed and productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 2+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience with system design, application development, testing and operational stability in a large corporate environment.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency and security.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools and an understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with modern front‑end technologies.
• Use of enterprise‑authorized AI coding‑assist tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting or documentation.
