Software Quality/Test Engineer – Emerging Technologies

About the role

Apple’s Emerging Technologies Quality Engineering team is looking for a Software Quality/Test Engineer to ensure high‑quality releases across a wide range of platforms, from highly scalable distributed systems to machine‑learning services. You will work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment, building automation tools and driving quality for critical customer‑facing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute functional and integration tests for backend services, APIs, websites and iOS applications.
• Build and maintain QE automation frameworks and tools with the goal of full test automation and reduced regression cycles.
• Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to define test plans, schedules and deliver high‑quality releases.
• Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience with an object‑oriented language (e.g., Java) and related frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with relational databases (SQL) and open‑source testing frameworks such as Selenium, Gauge or Playwright.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and automation of REST‑based web services.
• 1 + year experience with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and reporting quality metrics.
