Sr. Manager, Field Engineering

About the role

As a Sr. Manager, Field Engineering, you will lead a diverse team of technical pre‑sales Solutions Architects covering the ASEAN region. You’ll play a key leadership role at the intersection of technology and business—guiding your team to design impactful solutions, drive growth through collaboration and innovation, and build lasting partnerships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a high‑performing, inclusive pre‑sales team.
• Foster an environment of belonging, continuous learning, and psychological safety aligned with Databricks’ values.
• Work closely with Sales and other teams to identify opportunities and deliver data‑driven, value‑focused solutions.
• Establish best practices that improve team efficiency, collaboration, and business impact.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and partners, acting as a strategic advisor in their digital transformation journey.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Services, and other cross‑functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Represent Databricks as part of the regional leadership team, contributing to local presence and inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or managing technical teams in Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS environments.
• A track record of coaching and developing diverse, high‑performing teams.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to partner effectively with Sales, Marketing, and other cross‑functional leaders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical background in Data Engineering, Databases, or Data Science (consulting or customer‑facing experience preferred).
• Enthusiasm for data, AI, and cloud technologies, and the ability to connect these to real business outcomes.
