Sr. Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will embed with strategic customers to design and deliver custom full‑stack applications on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. The role blends hands‑on software development with deep customer engagement to drive measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own architecture and design decisions, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Design and develop full‑stack applications, including backend, frontend, and integrations, bringing data and AI to enterprise users on the Databricks platform.
• Deliver production‑grade systems from data ingestion and transformation through ML/AI model integration to user‑facing applications.
• Embed with customer teams, collaborating with technical staff and executives to understand challenges and drive impact.
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Field Engineering to ensure a seamless journey from pre‑sales to post‑deployment.
• Contribute reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts and influence the product roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience across backend, frontend, and systems integration.
• Proven ability to design, build, and deploy production applications that combine data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user interfaces.
• Demonstrated impact delivering technical solutions in enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with engineers, stakeholders, and C‑level executives.
• Curious, adaptable mindset eager to explore new technologies and customer challenges.
