Staff Engineer, HBM Customer Systems Validation

About the role

Micron Technology, Inc. is hiring a Senior HBM Customer Systems Validation Engineer. You will validate customer systems, run experiments and diagnostics, support customers and memory enablers such as GPU manufacturers, and help secure design wins and product qualification for Micron memory.

Key responsibilities

• System-level validation, failure analysis, characterization and experimentation of customer systems
• Run and configure diagnostic software, design experiments, analyze data, build custom hardware and software tools, and present data to customers
• Provide technical customer integration support at customer sites and debug customer failures, reproducing them with diagnostics and collaborating with Product Engineering and RMA
• Document failures with 8D reports and implement design or process fixes
• Create test scripts, design of experiments, and system characterization tools; develop software to interpret data
• Modify hardware that controls test parameters such as temperature and voltage, and support internal diagnostic tools in Micron labs
• Work with Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance and business unit teams, and communicate results to cross-functional teams and customers

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent) with more than 4 years of experience, or more than 3 years with a Master's
• Experience programming with Linux, Python/C/C++, and version control systems (git, svn)
• Good problem-solving, analytical, teamwork, communication, data analytics and presentation skills
• Basic understanding of DRAM operations and computer networking

Preferred skills

• Bios/Linux driver development and debugging
• Understanding of system architecture and memory subsystems
• Comfort with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers and soldering equipment
• Product validation with hardware, firmware and software components
