Staff Product Owner, Cost Pillar, SMAI

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Product Owner for its Cost Pillar, SMAI, to lead enterprise-wide cost optimization initiatives across Front-End (Wafer Fab) and Back-End (Assembly & Test) operations. The role works with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Cost and Program Management to identify cost opportunities and deliver AI-driven solutions that improve productivity, spend visibility and business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive identification, prioritization and implementation of AI-enabled cost optimization opportunities across Front-End and Back-End operations.
• Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Central Cost and Site teams to find strategic and operational savings.
• Lead business cases, ROI assessments and value realization frameworks.
• Work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to turn business challenges into scalable AI solutions.
• Analyze operational, supply chain, sourcing and cost data to find optimization levers.
• Support value engineering, commercial and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Set up governance for tracking financial impact and business outcomes, and drive stakeholder adoption.
• Identify emerging AI and analytics opportunities, support enterprise cost intelligence, promote responsible use of generative AI and share best practices globally.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in cost management, procurement, operations, manufacturing or transformation programs.
• Mandatory experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Cost Engineering or Cost Transformation.
• Experience driving cross-functional projects with operations, procurement and finance stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Front-End and/or Back-End semiconductor operations.
• Proven ability to develop value cases and deliver measurable results, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Preferred: experience in both Front-End and Back-End environments, AI/analytics/digital transformation, value engineering, should-cost modeling, category management and supplier economics; consulting experience is a strong plus.
