Staff Product Owner, Cost Solutions, Smart Manufacturing & AI

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Product Owner for its Cost Solutions, Smart Manufacturing & AI team. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will act as a cost transformation Product Owner, driving AI-enabled cost reduction and improvement across procurement and manufacturing. You will partner with I4.0 Managers, Analysts and Data Scientists, own the product backlog and roadmap for AI-enabled cost solutions, and help deliver a portfolio of AI and Generative AI use cases such as spend and commodity intelligence, supplier intelligence and contract analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Support coordinated smart manufacturing solutions across Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing, focused on cost optimisation.
• Ensure cost transformation efforts are aligned and deliver measurable impact to financial performance.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities with AI-enabled tools and advanced analytics, turning them into initiatives with a clear savings and efficiency roadmap.
• Set before/after measurement frameworks covering cost, cycle time and productivity, and drive delivery of cost transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate across business units to align and execute cost-saving measures.
• Apply AI and advanced analytics to assess cost structures and optimise procurement and operational workflows for both cash cost and capital spend.
• Pilot and scale AI and Generative AI use cases, embedding them into category managers' and analysts' daily workflows.
• Communicate complex strategies and insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

Required profile

• At least 5-10 years of experience in cost projects and cost initiatives within Operations or Procurement.
• Familiarity with processes, systems and solutions, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to work multi-functionally with peers, senior and mid-level management, and peer leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organised and flexible to changing business needs.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI, Generative AI and advanced analytics use cases for cost and procurement, with measurable dollar and efficiency impact.
