Staff Product Owner, Industrial & Physical AI

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Product Owner for its Industrial & Physical AI team (SMAI) at Fab 10A. The role defines, prioritizes and delivers AI-powered products supporting global construction, facilities, EHS, digital twin and physical AI initiatives. It reports to the Director of Industrial & Physical AI and acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business needs into scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage the product roadmap for the Industrial & Physical AI portfolio, aligned with business objectives and fab expansion programs.
• Partner with executives and business teams to find opportunities where AI, robotics, automation and digital twin technologies improve performance, safety and project execution.
• Lead stakeholder discovery with Construction, Facilities, EHS, Manufacturing Operations, Equipment Engineering and Material Handling, then turn needs into user stories, BRDs, FRDs, data requirements and AI model performance metrics.
• Own and prioritize the backlog, and lead Agile activities such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and release planning.
• Deliver using a hybrid Agile and Waterfall approach, tracking performance, adoption and project progress and updating leadership regularly.
• Influence product strategy, prioritization and investment decisions across global programs.
• Drive UAT, deployment readiness, change management, training and handover, and manage relationships with external vendors and partners, including setting statements of work and quality standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and establish governance frameworks and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management or a related field.
• At least 8 years in Product Management, Product Ownership, Technical Program Management or a similar role for software, data, AI, automation or industrial technology products.
• Proven experience turning business requirements into roadmaps and requirements, and leading large-scale digital transformation, AI or automation initiatives from concept to deployment.
• Experience managing complex programs and influencing senior stakeholders in global, matrixed organizations.
• Agile product development and hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery experience.

Required skills

• Product roadmap, backlog and lifecycle management, and Agile delivery and requirements management.
• Business process analysis, stakeholder requirement gathering and writing business, functional and acceptance requirements.
• Knowledge of AI/ML solutions, data platforms and industrial digital technologies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, strategic thinking and leadership without direct authority.

Preferred: Master's degree; semiconductor manufacturing, construction or facilities experience; BIM/VDC, Primavera P6, RFIs/submittals, EHS and procurement familiarity; knowledge of NVIDIA Isaac, ROS 2, Omniverse/OpenUSD, computer vision, digital twins, AMR/AGV and edge AI; experience managing strategic vendor partnerships.
