Staff Research & Development Engineer (Material Scientist)

About the role

As a Staff Research & Development Engineer, you will lead the creation of innovative thermal interface materials (TIM1) for semiconductor assembly applications. You will act as a technical leader, guiding R&D projects from concept to market while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop TIM1 materials that meet market demands and performance standards.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to quality requirements.
• Optimize resource allocation to maximize innovation output and ROI.
• Collaborate with internal teams, senior management, clients, and vendors to gather requirements and report progress.
• Explore emerging technologies and translate them into product roadmaps and new product concepts.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of continuous learning.
• Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in semiconductor assembly material industry, specifically thermal interface materials.
• Proven track record in product development and project management.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for global cross‑functional teams.
