Staff Solution Engineer – Reverse Engineering & Security

About the role

Join Coupang’s Ecommerce Engineering team to build scalable, high‑performance backend systems and secure web‑side protocols that power fast‑growing revenue and exceptional customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for web‑side protocol analysis and parameter reverse engineering, and improving solutions.
• Continuously iterate on‑device attack and defense capabilities, and explore the construction of a fully automated adversarial system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security or related fields, with at least 3 years of practical experience in Android/iOS reverse engineering.
• Successful reverse engineering experience with mainstream websites (e.g., social media, e‑commerce, finance) covering the full process from decompilation to logical analysis.
• Strong logical analysis and problem‑solving abilities to identify technical bottlenecks and devise solutions.
• Information‑security certifications such as CEH or OSCP, or contributions to open‑source reverse‑engineering tools, are a plus.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with the team.

Required skills

• JavaScript reverse engineering with AST analysis (Babel Parser) and familiarity with common obfuscation techniques.
• Browser debugging using Chrome DevTools and automation frameworks such as Puppeteer or Playwright; experience with Chromium kernel modifications is a plus.
• Knowledge of web anti‑scraping measures (browser fingerprinting, TLS fingerprinting) and human‑machine verification (CAPTCHA, reCAPTCHA, Akamai).
• Understanding of application‑layer protocols (HTTP, WebSocket) and network packet capture/analysis tools (Charles, Wireshark).
• Familiarity with encryption algorithms (RSA, AES, HMAC) and interface signature mechanisms.
• Web security expertise, including discovery of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and awareness of WAF protections.
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js for building independent automation tools.
