Staff Specialist, EHSS Data

About the role

Micron's Global EHS & Sustainability team is looking for a Staff Specialist, EHSS Data to act as the technical specialist for the EHSS data domain. You will partner with EHSS subject matter experts, SMAI and IT to shape trusted data products, data models and technical specifications that support reporting, analytics, AI and operational decision-making. The role ensures EHSS data is reliable, reusable, well governed and aligned with approved business definitions and enterprise data practices.

Key responsibilities

• Build the EHSS Trusted Data foundation: design and maintain data models, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic and technical data specifications.
• Translate approved business definitions and rules into reusable, analytics-ready data structures and datasets.
• Define and maintain data-quality controls, validation rules, reconciliation processes and technical acceptance criteria.
• Partner with EHSS SMEs to align technical implementation with approved metrics and data standards.
• Work with SMAI and IT on EHSS data products, pipelines and technical designs, representing EHSS in technical data reviews.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation and root-cause analysis, and support testing, deployment readiness and sustainment of data products.
• Maintain technical metadata, mapping documentation, data dictionaries and transformation specifications, and develop reusable datasets for reporting, analytics, automation and AI.
• Identify improvements to data quality, consistency, maintainability, traceability and reuse, and preserve critical EHSS data knowledge.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 6-10+ years of experience in data engineering, data modelling, data integration, business intelligence engineering or related technical data roles.
• Experience designing data models, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic and technical data specifications.
• Experience with data profiling, data-quality controls, reconciliation, validation and structured testing.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into precise, testable technical specifications.
• Experience with enterprise databases, cloud-based data environments or data platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, able to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
• Preferred: Snowflake, SQL Server, Google Cloud Platform, Azure Data Services, Git, Azure DevOps, metadata, data-quality, data-catalogue, lineage or data-governance tools.
• Preferred: Python, SAP, ServiceNow, EHSS processes and sustainability reporting, experience in regulated operations and global cross-functional teams.
