Sustaining Project Engineer, Operations

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is hiring a Sustaining Project Engineer for its Tuas Plant in Singapore. The role acts as the main link between platform project teams and manufacturing sites, making sure site and operations requirements are built into sustaining engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a core team member on sustaining engineering projects, incorporating site and operations requirements into scope, risk assessments, validation strategies and implementation plans.
• Act as the primary contact between platform project teams and manufacturing sites, sharing execution needs, risks, constraints and status.
• Give site-level input on capacity, timing and resources to support project sequencing and prioritization.
• Coordinate site execution activities such as validations, process studies, engineering work orders, material trials and line-time planning.
• Monitor site readiness and escalation risks, escalating impacts to project leadership and the PMO so they can be mitigated quickly.
• Support sustaining changes such as material or packaging updates, process changes, compliance initiatives and business continuity projects.
• Ensure documentation and change control for site-impacting changes, including validation documentation, training coordination and implementation closeout.
• Manage the sustaining projects portfolio for the sites in scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Project Management, Communications or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, sustaining engineering, process engineering or product lifecycle support within a regulated industry.
• Experience supporting cross-functional project teams with site execution responsibilities.
• Experience working in a quality- and regulatory-controlled environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in medical devices or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience coordinating site trials or execution across multiple lines or sites.
• Familiarity with SAP manufacturing and document control systems.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma or similar project or operations certification.

The role is based at the Tuas Plant in Singapore.
