Team Lead - Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineering Team Lead based in Singapore, you will lead a team of highly skilled software engineers responsible for building and evolving Adyen’s Global Cards platform for the APAC region. Your team plays a critical role in developing scalable, reliable, and resilient payment capabilities that power card transactions for merchants across APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Software Engineers, supporting both their technical and professional growth.
• Partner closely with Product Managers to translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive the technical direction of the team, balancing product delivery with long‑term platform scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Guide architectural discussions and engineering decisions across the Cards domain.
• Deliver highly reliable and scalable software that supports global card payment methods, including authorisation, routing, settlement, and scheme integrations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing software engineering teams.
• Strong background building large‑scale, distributed systems using Java or similar backend technologies.
• Experience coaching engineers through technical mentorship, feedback, and career development.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, facilitate architectural decisions, and balance engineering quality with business priorities.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers and cross‑functional stakeholders.
