Technical Program Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chips and advanced displays, is hiring a Technical Program Manager in Singapore. The role leads projects from conception through implementation, driving on-time, within-budget delivery while coordinating with customers and managing resources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the project plan and oversee it from conception and planning to implementation, including strategies, processes and resources.
• Ensure objectives are clearly defined and agreed across the business unit.
• Manage schedules and tasks using project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists and scheduling software.
• Drive allocated resources from other organizations to meet on-time and within-budget targets.
• Initiate and manage capital allocation requests, purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Manage the cost schedule performance of equipment for internal and external customers and vendors worldwide.
• Lead multifunctional design teams of internal, external and matrixed staff, providing technical leadership to achieve goals.
• Interface with customers to define objectives, give status updates and prepare for release and deployment.
• Provide engineering and business process expertise on complex programs and issues, identify complications and develop solutions.

Required profile

• Recognized as the technical expert in their field, with in-depth expertise in their discipline and broad knowledge of related disciplines.
• Able to anticipate business and regulatory issues and recommend product, process or service improvements.
• Capable of leading projects with notable risk and complexity, and solving complex problems with broad business impact.
• Comfortable communicating complex ideas and persuading others, often at senior levels.
