Technical Project Manager

About the role

The Technical Project Manager reports to the Head of Project Management and works within a major‑project organisation under the Project Director. This role supports planning, integration and control of technical and project‑management scopes across the full delivery lifecycle of large automation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and control execution plans, schedules, resources, budgets, risks and procurement activities for assigned scopes, providing status updates and escalations to the Project Director.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary work packages across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, site installation, controls/software, testing, commissioning and QHSE, actively managing interfaces and dependencies.
• Translate contractual and customer requirements into deliverables, acceptance criteria and verification activities, and oversee design reviews, FAT, SAT, system integration testing and final acceptance.
• Maintain commercial and contractual awareness, coach junior project managers and ensure traceable project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems or related engineering discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience delivering complex engineered or industrial automation systems, with proven leadership of multidisciplinary work packages.
• Strong project‑management capability covering scope, schedule, budget, risk, procurement and stakeholder management.
• Excellent written and spoken English and willingness to travel for site activities.

Required skills

• PLC/SCADA systems and industrial communications.
• Controls, software interfaces and structured troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 for schedule management.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
