Technical Project Manager - Systems and Network Integration

About the role

The Technical Project Manager leads the end-to-end delivery of complex security screening, IT network and systems-integration projects across the Asia Pacific region, with a preferred location of Singapore. The role combines project management accountability with hands-on technical involvement in deploying networked systems and their associated screening, server, storage, workstation, network and edge-device infrastructure. Candidates must communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and take part in critical site deployment, integration and acceptance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects in the Asia Pacific region that contribute to the company's financial performance, managing scope, schedule, cost, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
• Work with the Sales team to define technical solutions, prepare bids and offers and support contract closure.
• Manage relationships with customers, sub-contractors, distributors and internal stakeholders, and run communication plans across time zones.
• Ensure documentation meets company and contractual requirements, and support the handover to field service support, including spare parts planning.
• Take part in equipment installation, software deployment, system configuration, network verification, commissioning and fault investigation.
• Manage site readiness (equipment room, power, UPS, cooling, cabling, fibre, IP addressing, access and work windows).
• Review designs for dependencies, gaps, interface risks and cybersecurity requirements, and develop test plans, scripts, evidence, punch lists, defect registers and acceptance certificates.
• Lead cutover and migration, including parallel builds, pilots, phased deployment, rollback planning and change control.
• Prepare technical documentation such as methods of work, statements of work, installation and commissioning plans, risk assessments and safe work documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Electronics or Management.
• More than 12 years of experience, including at least 6 years in project and people management with an international organization.
• Prior experience managing capital equipment or systems projects or programs.
• Proven ownership of scope, budget and schedule; experience with projects over SGD 1 million is an advantage.
• Experience in high-reliability, 24x7 environments similar to the aviation industry, and in stakeholder management.
• Ability to travel within Asia, sometimes at short notice.

Required skills

• Knowledge of network infrastructure: Ethernet switching, TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing, fibre and copper, redundancy, segmentation, firewalls, servers, virtualisation, storage and edge devices.
• Ability to read system architecture diagrams, network topologies, rack layouts, cable schedules and configuration data.
• Experience with aviation security screening, baggage handling, X-ray or CT screening equipment, building or industrial control systems, or other integrated electromechanical systems.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is desirable.
