Technical Risk & Safety Consultant

About the role

ERM is seeking a self-motivated Technical, Risk & Safety Consultant to join its Singapore office. You will work closely with Principal Consultants and Partners on risk management projects covering risk analysis, modeling, calculations and other studies, supporting large global clients. The role offers access to ERM's national risk management experts and knowledge sharing of best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on safety and risk projects, performing robust, defensible analysis
• Carry out quantitative risk analysis (QRA) models in Excel, fire and explosion modeling, gas and smoke dispersion modeling, risk calculations, non-flammable hazard analysis, ETRERA analysis for offshore facilities, safety critical element analysis, pipeline risk assessments, cost/benefit analysis and SIL studies
• Suggest design changes to reduce risk or improve operations
• Take part in safety workshops such as HAZIDS, HAZOPS and ALARP, including preparation, scribing and client reporting
• Attend client meetings, prepare proposals, safety cases and formal safety assessment summaries
• Produce high-quality reports with clear diagrams and fully explained calculations
• Deliver multiple projects within scope, budget and schedule, and support project managers

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, process or related engineering
• 4-8 years' experience in safety and risk engineering, preferably in oil and gas; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
• Understanding of local offshore and onshore safety regulations and safety case requirements
• Able to support business development and to multi-task, travel and work independently

Required skills

• Effective written and verbal communication and analytical skills
• Experience writing detailed technical reports is a plus
• Technical skills: QRA, CFD modeling, HAZIDS, HAZOPS, ALARP, SIL studies
