Therapy Assistant (1 Year Contract)

About the role

The Therapy Assistant provides assistance to therapists in clinical, administrative and technical duties and helps supervise healthcare attendants. This is a 1-year contract position; renewal depends on satisfactory performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the therapist in setting up, supervising and helping patients perform therapeutic activities and exercises
• Help set up treatment areas, gyms and clinics before patients arrive
• Set up modalities and therapeutic equipment and supervise patients using them
• Help run group therapy exercises under therapist supervision
• Tidy the therapy area and help with cleaning duties
• Coordinate and, where necessary, port patients to and from the therapy department
• Oversee healthcare attendant duties and portering assignments in the rehab area
• Check inventory of equipment, supplies and forms, and manage inventory lists
• Photocopy, bind, file and distribute documents and forms
• Enter and retrieve basic data using relevant computer programmes
• Maintain therapeutic equipment and devices
• Help orient and induct new therapy assistants
• Handle enquiries, answer calls and pass on messages

Required profile

• Minimum GCE 'O' level
• Service-oriented and patient-focused attitude
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
