Upstream Biotechnologist / Process Engineer – NPI/Brownfield Projects

About the role

We are seeking an Upstream Biotechnologist / Process Engineer to join our permanent team and support new product introduction and brownfield projects in the biopharma sector. The role will act as Process Owner for Single‑Use System activities and provide technical support across manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and support Single‑Use System (SUS) activities, troubleshooting defects and decontamination issues.
• Investigate deviations, perform root‑cause analysis and implement CAPA.
• Operate process control systems (Delta‑V) and manage data entry in SAP.
• Create and maintain documentation such as SOPs, MBRs and process design maps.
• Perform welding with the Bio Welder, conduct pressure, leak and helium tests to ensure vessel integrity.
• Support change controls related to manufacturing processes, SUS and NPI activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, MSAT, Quality, Engineering and Validation teams.

Required profile

• Strong upstream bioprocess knowledge including harvesting, inoculation, centrifuge and fermentation systems.
• Experience delivering large NPI or brownfield projects.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and document work according to approved formulas.
• Hands‑on technical and shop‑floor support experience during manufacturing and product launches.

Required skills
