Utilities Technician – Contract (Islandwide, Singapore)

About the role

Our client is looking for a Utilities Technician I to support the operation and maintenance of critical utility systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. This entry‑level technical role involves routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting and thorough documentation while adhering to cGMP and EHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine operation and monitoring of utility systems such as boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers and air handling units (AHUs).
• Execute planned preventive maintenance activities and support basic equipment repairs.
• Record operational parameters, maintenance activities and logbooks in accordance with established procedures.
• Escalate equipment abnormalities and assist senior technicians during shutdowns, inspections and audits.
• Ensure all work complies with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and site procedures.

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, ITE Certificate, Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Facilities Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, process manufacturing, semiconductor or power generation industries.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of utility equipment: boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programmes and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Basic troubleshooting and fault‑finding capabilities.
• Understanding of cGMP and EHS requirements.
