Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) & ECO

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) who will also serve as an Environmental Compliance Officer (ECO) for our construction projects across Singapore. The role involves ensuring a safe work environment, compliance with statutory regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Workplace Occupational Health and Safety matters on project sites.
• Conduct mass toolbox meetings, monthly WSH committee meetings, and weekly site inspections.
• Organise emergency preparedness exercises such as fire drills.
• Perform internal safety audits and daily inspections to verify legal compliance.
• Identify unsafe practices, implement corrective controls, and monitor their effectiveness.
• Review and update Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessments.
• Deliver safety training and awareness sessions for staff and workers.
• Prepare incident/accident analyses and assist the Project Manager in investigations.
• Evaluate subcontractor safety performance and ensure adherence to in‑house rules and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the building construction industry.
• Diploma in Engineering, Environmental, Health, or Safety (or equivalent) preferred.
• Valid registration with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
