Accountant – Fleet Management

About the role

The Accountant will provide financial administrative services for the Fleet Management Department, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations that comply with internal policies and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts with analysis of vessel OPEX and management costs.
• Consolidate financial performance of the Company, subsidiaries and associated entities for audits and reporting.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, including vessel CAPEX and dry‑dock projects.
• Maintain charter‑hire accounting, off‑hire calculations, provisions, EUA postings and unearned revenue adjustments.
• Oversee bunker inventory accounting and consumption during vessel off‑hire periods.
• Handle insurance accounting, claim deductible provisions and finalisation.
• Capture and maintain branch accounting records in SAP S4 HANA.
• Support ad‑hoc reporting requests for group reporting functions.
• Coordinate annual budget and periodic forecasts, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
• Prepare bi‑weekly flash reports, monthly BOD packs, and quarterly EXCO/BOD presentations.
• Liaise with statutory auditors, address audit queries and minimise audit points.
• Manage GST registration, deregistration, exemption and quarterly returns.
• Coordinate with MPA on AIS requirements and reporting.
• Identify workflow improvements and design system‑generated reports to reduce reliance on spreadsheets.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or related field, or professional qualification such as ACCA.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably with financial planning and analysis exposure.
• Prior audit experience is preferred.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Team player.
